Bastide d'Aguyane

Walking and Hiking

In the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, the Bastide is an ideal base for walking and hiking holidays.

We are members of the "Couleurs Rando" association which proposes hiking circuits and trails. We also participate in the “on the steps of the muleteers” project which restores the old mule trails which fed and clothed the Ardèche and proposes routes from Gîte to Gîte with or without donkeys to carry your bags and kids.

Three hiking trails starting from the Bastide :

"A heritage tour": this 12.3km (4h30) signposted path explores the different hamlets that make up Faugères and main heritage highpoints such as the marker stone, the old lime kiln, Chabrolières abbey, Marceau mill and the 10th century fortified church.

"Around Faugères": this 7.8km (3h00) signposted path climbs up through the Salindre river valley and the pretty stone hamlets along the way.

"Champmajour-Brès": This 15km (5h30) sign-posted path skirts the high valley of the Sure. Very beautiful landscapes...

There are many other trails within a 15-30 minute drive from the Bastide.

These are our favourites:

"Les boules de Gargantua", "Peyre-Thines", "Les circuits du Bois de Païolive", "Le circuit des Tétines", "Le sentier des Lauzes"...

We will advise you on your excursions and we lend you local maps and circuit guides.
We share your passion for walking.
